Spring Line...

A one piece romper for my spring line. Okay I will admit that I misjudged the size on my baby girl so this is a little small on her. :( I wanted this for her for this summer. I think that I may be out of luck. Baby gift maybe? You will see this next week in my shop!

...Oh and I just mailed a few pieces to be photographed...in Arizona, much warmer climate than where I am! :) Can't wait to see them!

Mind of a 4 Year Old

Here he is! My 4 year old...
...my daily challenge!
I once said he is the life of the party a few years back...
he is living up to his rep!
He gets up in the morning and does not stop....
until he gets tucked in at night.
Full of fun, excitment, wonder, laughing...
teasing, pestering, razzing, badgering...
warmth, compassion, and love.
All of it summed up in one kid...depending on just how he decides he wants to be!

Sunday mornings Dad and the older kids leave to church earlier for Sunday School and Mom and the youngers go in an hour later for the regular morning service. Well alot of times Grandma and Grandpa, who live a half a mile through the woods {...over the river and through the woods to grandmother's house we go...!} will stop and pick the rest of us up for a ride in to church. Well as we are driving along last weekend, 4 year old and Grandma are having a conversation. {Grandma who he loves so very much and who I'm sure returns the sentiment equally!}

"Look at all those clouds in the sky!" "There are alot of clouds in the sky aren't there grandma"
"Yes there is!"
"Holy! Look at that mongo one!" ...{pause}... "You can't go swimming til it's 80" "We have a swimming pool by our barn." "Do you know where our barn is Grandma?"
"Yes I do"
"It is way up at the top of our hill." ...{pause}... "Grandma"
"What?"
"Your teeth are right next to your lips."

And so on the entire 15 minute drive to church. Gotta love 4 year olds!

On Vacation

Red Wagon Kids will officially be on vacation beginning midnight tonight. Tomorrow morning I am squeaking in teacher conferences at the school and the kids get out early to begin a long weekend. We will be Canada bound at 1:00 pm. for a quick 4 day trip to see G and G and uncles and aunties. Everything will resume a {normalcy} beginning Monday morning. Have a great weekend everyone!!

...I am hosting another garage sale. I just did one this spring. Well here is how the story goes. I always clean out the kids clothes every spring and every fall. But also there is some land that we bought last winter. Some gorgeous wooded acres:

{spacious}

The house is going to go (do you wonder why?) and another is eventually going to take its place.

Also on this land (we bought as is, everything goes with) is a barn FULL of junk {treasures}, that I am trying to lure people into buying, rather than throwing it all in a whole in the ground! One man's junk is another man's treasure, is it not??

How Many People Did This Today?

It is back to the schedule, back to the grind, back to a little more peace and quiet. I love this time of year when you get up in the cool crisp morning, send the kids (half of them anyway) off on the big yellow bus and then relax with a cup of "Joe", as my brothers would say.

I have three I am sending off this year. Three big girls.

And now mom is at home with her three boys, one who considers himself big and thinks he should be joining the girls (not for 2 more years buddy). Another who is a complete delight and at such a fun age learning new words every day. And the last, but certainly not least, (who is also at a fun age figuring out what is going on in this world), waking, watching, giggling, eating, (pooping), sleeping.

For the latest on Etsy updates. I am sitting right now at about a 2 week wait after I get my next 2 orders out the door (which are very close to completed....tomorrow!).

Been racing around like a mad woman....

trying to get some more items posted this week. I succeeded in a few only because I have my sister here this week helping me again. She might be going home for good now after this week. :( Ah well after I get some new items up I can relax a little. But I have more cute cute fabric waiting for me to start shaping into something pretty and well wearable! I am pretty pleased with the results. First we had to weed out a few obstacles:

Number one: Rascal there in the bottom corner! (Annoying!! thinks big sister.) As soon as the camera comes out he is there saying "cheese!!" (I will have to do some sewing and model it on him.)

Number two: The glasses had to go they were causing too much reflection.

Shirt number one made in pretty pink and brown which seems to be a favorite color combination of mine for now. I added some shirring on the sleeves and waist to give it a little different look, I like the end result. Got that one photographed and went in to punch down the bread dough and form it into loaves. At the same time throwing some sandwiches together for the rest of the troop and giving instructions to sister how to make a headband since we decided we needed to add to the next photo shoot.

Shirt number two and we forgot to shoot some of this shirt with a layered look. She tried it on with a pink shirt underneath and it looked darling....might have to squeeze that in tomorrow....is that possible? So we added a bandana to this one. You may request it for an additional $5.00 in the fabric of your choice! I really like this shirt too (so does the girl in the photo...hmmm...does she deserve it, probably I guess for all her hard work :)).

I had an order for a size 8 shirt in this style so we decided to update the pictures for this shirt as it is still available but the sparrow pants in the old photos are not. YAY I got rid of pretty much every last inch of that stuff! It was a favorite for sure.

Then I got out the performer to model the new corduroy dress that I was working on earlier. Very cute with AND without the sash, take your pick. I wish I had a pair of little brown boots to model this with. Sigh.....maybe I will find some one of these days. Oh....and the ruffles will also be available too. I would like to make shirt to model them with as well....!

Extention of Sale!!

I am not getting done quite what I had wanted to before my "blog sale" ended. The warm weather is calling me. We haven't really had summer as of yet in our area and now it is finally warming up to 90 degrees for a couple days so I have to get out and enjoy it and relax in the sun. For next week it is supposed to cool off again. :( Well that means I will have more time to get the rest of my stuff listed that I want to. So on account of the warm weather, the buy one get one equal or lesser value 50% off sale is officially extended till the end of next week, August 21st. That way you have more to choose from when you go to make your order. On the other hand if you already know what you want, feel free and let me know. More Rose Collection

To everyone who may still be waiting...I promise there will be another piece or two from the Rose Collection for you to choose from by Friday!!! I was going to have a redwagonkids day all day today and it turned out that it was a GORGEOUS day FINALLY and hubby was able to get out of work a half a day early so we went and spent the day at the beach (the very first time this summer) with the kids. Hubby's brother and family were there too at their grandparents' cabin, so the kids got some quality time with cousins that live in the cities. Baby's calling!

EEEEEk I am so in love!

This is baby number 6 and I am in love all over again. It sometimes seems how can a person divide their love between so many children, but this love doesn't divide, it just keeps growing. I remember thinking when I was expecting my second how will I love this baby as much as the first? And sure enough that love was there for that baby too, and the love my first seemed to change a little bit. This love still is changing as my oldest now is 8 and is a great big help to her mom, but it is such an awesome feeling to have that "baby love" again!

How can you not just love them?

In the mean time I am busy trying to get rid of some baby fat! :) My inspiration this time: 5K run that is coming up NEXT SATURDAY!! Another EEEEEEEEK! I have had only 4 weeks to train for this so we shall see how it goes. Also my training has been just a tad sporatic at times, but as long as my sister (who has promised to come and hold my hand) is still up to it we are going to do it in 9 days! Wish me luck. LOL!

I'm Down to the Last Few Yards

...of Joel Dewberry sparrow fabric. This fabric is getting hard to find so I think this will be the last of it. I will be getting a new line to replace it once I have more of my Rose Collection up. It is a little sad because I really did love this collection, but it is time for a new one.

Trying to get a little more creative using up some fabric on hand. One of my favorites here! I stopped and picked up some silk flowers to add some spice! This 3 piece outfit made from Heather Bailey's freshcut is a must have for your little sweet. It is available ready to ship in a size 5.

My daughter had fun prancing around in this one! Act fast tho as quantities are limited! 2 available.

Here is a basic pillowcase dress in another of my favorite fabrics. Amy Butler's morning glory and full moon. Simple every day dress that she will love!

Some purple fabric that I found that is very pretty. A summer shirt to add to her wardrobe. Can also be made into a dress at your request. Add a purple silk flower and sash? Just let me know!

Well that is all for today. I have been sewing sewing sewing all day today and will do the same tomorrow to get some fall designs up! May have some sneak peeks tomorrow hopefully. But baby is demanding my attention right now! A big 2 month old he is now and a big eater too! But a GREAT sleeper so I am very lucky!

Fabric Clearout!

I am using up some fabrics that I have on hand, so I am going to sew up a few dresses and maybe a one of a kind outfit or two. So stay posted so you can see when they come.

Here is the first dress, just a simple halter style pillowcase dress. My sister is staying with me and she made the pretty flower attached to the front.

Baby boy arrived...

...Wednesday May 27th. 3:30 am I had my first concious labor pain that had me bolting up in bed to check the clock. Next one came 7 minutes later, so I woke up hubby and called mother-in-law. As soon as she arrived we headed to the hospital which is 30 minutes away. By the time we got there contractions were 2 minutes apart and very intense....sure enough, (what I was dreading the most) I was almost complete. The doctor arrived and told me well whenever you are ready!! Needless to say it was a swift all natural delivery and a healthy baby Garret was brought into this world at 5:08 am! 9 lb. 2 oz. Mom and baby are both doing excellent.

I have an order that I was working on before the weekend that had to get put on hold because of all the events that went on over the weekend. My husband's grandmother passed away and we had lots of family in town between the funeral and my brother-in-law's graduation. I will finish that as soon as I am feeling like I can handle it here. Then I will let my sewing machine rest for a couple weeks and then get back into the swing of things once we get adjusted over here with new baby's schedule!

23 days and counting...

Down to 23 days left til baby is due! I have been planning on getting a blog going here, but have been procrastinating for a few weeks. I want to keep everyone posted on the status of my shop now that it is going to be closed for a few weeks starting next week. I don't want to take on too much now with baby due in a couple weeks, so whatever gets ordered by May 6th (that's next Wednesday), I am planning to get shipped out and then focus on baby! Unless there are any surprises, I usually go within a day or two of my duedate.

Ho boy and I also have sick kids on my hands too, so I am disinfecting and doing laundry pretty regularly here too! When it rains it pours around here, usually. Yesterday I took one of my sick kids (B1) into the clinic (and sure enough had ear infection B1 had ear infection last week). So his appointment was at 11:30. I had to leave the house by 11:00 and had to leave it very presentable cause Wednesday the realtor called for a showing on our house at 3:00 Thursday. Then after we find out about the ear infection (had the prescription sent over to Walmart) we all (as in Girl2, Girl3, Boy1, Boy2) ran to McDonald's and grabbed some lunch. Of course at McD's B1 has to use the bathroom...oops too late and shoot no clean diapers in the diaper bag. Oh well we will just stop by home and grab some later! Run to Walmart with all 4 charms, it is now 1:40 and I need to be at the school to pick up G1 at 2:30 to go to the dentist. Get into Walmart, 1:45....nice, the pharmacy is closed for lunch from 1:30 til 2:00. Okay, I guess I will grab whatever else I need and pay for that then return to the pharmacy. 2:00 Pharmacy now open, whew the prescription is ready AND it went through insurance first attempt! WOW, one point for the day! Get kids back in bus (we have a 12 passenger van now!) and run and get G1 from school, good she is ready waiting in the office, another point. G1, G2, and G3 all have cleanings at 3:30, 3 different hygenists, so I will just sit in the waiting room with B1 and B2 while they are getting their cleanings done. Run to the dentist, stop at home and grab some diapers and tylenol on the way past cause B1 seems to be running a temp now. Chugging down the road, takes about 1/2 hour to get there and B1 decides to be sick. On no!!! Now he is covered from head to toe with his lunch! How can I take him into the dentist office?? Call hubby, he works right next to the dentist office. Yup he can leave work an hour early and take B1 and B2 home. Stop on the side of the road and clean up mess!! Whew hubby saves the day and and the dentist appointments get done. We still don't know if there was a showing on our house tho cause we got home and there weren't really even any traces that someone was in our house. Next time I am going to leave the wet wipes box behind the door so I know if the front door was even opened or not.

Well lets hope for a better day today! Got to get sewing, I have a few orders to fill here. Hoping to get order for jennmanderson out today, it is almost done!
